Funding Programs - WAC Member Group Grants 2012

Funding is available to groups or organizations who are members of the Whistler Arts Council (WAC) with arts and culture projects comparable to the goals and mandate of WAC. The Member Group Grants are offered through the B.C. Arts Council’s Member Groups Assistance. Priority will be given to established non-profit societies, but unincorporated groups may apply. WAC will provide funds to pay specific expenses for projects. Projects eligible for funding include: professional development workshops for amateur or professional writers/artists/performers; assistance with programming/productions in the performing or literary arts; art exhibitions; purchase of sheet music; project related costs (venue/equipment rental, artist/director/facilitator fees). Funding is not available for: general operating expenses, deficits, capital or equipment purchases.

Eligible projects must occur between January 1 – December 31, 2012.

The total amount available from the Member Grants budget is $2,500. Average grants range from $400-$1,000 per group depending on the number of applications received.

Application deadline: 5PM on Friday, September 10, 2012 (late applications will not be accepted). Applications can be dropped off at Millennium Place across from the Brewhouse in Whistler or mailed to Box 383, Whistler, BC, V0N 1B0.

Past recipients include: Blank Slate Theatre, Whistler Secondary School Drama Club, Whistler Pottery Club, Whistler Valley Quilters Guild, Whistler Children’s Chorus and Howe Sound Music Festival.
