Toby Jaxon

Toby's public artistic career began early, winning her first accolade in a poster contest at age 6. Moving on to oils and acrylics, she affected a hyperrealist style that eventually taxed her patience. While attending Art & Design college, Toby experimented with other media and styles but finally settled into acrylic on canvas and gravitated toward impressionistic 'scapes and portraits - verifying how colour creates impact and effect that stimulates the visual senses. Her art has appeared in many galleries and public venues; she has recieved complements from many viewrs of private and corporate collections.

Toby Jaxon is Curator of the Foyer Gallery and Past President of VISUALS. As a dedicated volunteer, Toby has directed Art at the Market and ArtWalk events.  She has recieved numerous art awards, was honoured for her paintings Girl's Best Friend, Tulip Daydream and recently voted Best Local Artists in The Chief Reader's Choice Awards.
