Debra MacArthur was raised in London, Ontario but has called British Columbia her home for the past 28 years - over ten of these living here in Whistler. Inspired by her close friend and mentor Lorna Emslie, Debra started painting flowers as a hobby. But, what started as a hobby soon became a passion. In early 2000 she became involved with the Federation of Canadian Artists, taking workshops and classes from some of our provinces most well known and respected artists. In 2003 she was invited to become an active member of the Federation.

Her exposure to art and painting over the past few years has given her a gift - a new and different way at looking at everything. Her art has giver her an awareness of a world where everyday scenes, experiences and objects are full of light, colour and texture - where trees are more than just green, shadows more than grey and water is more than blue. It is this gift of truly seeing the beauty in our everyday life that she strives to share with others through her work.

Debra currently resides in Whistler, British Columbia and works both in watercolour and acrylics.
