Andrea Padovani

Andrea Padovani, was born in Verona Italy in 1961) and now lives and works in Whistler BC.

Recent exhibitions in 2011 include Venice Biennale, Padiglione Italia nel Mondo; solo show GHELFI Gallery Verona Italy.

Between 1999 and 2011 he had 10 solo shows in Bergen/Amsterdam NL and 10 in West Vancouver Buckland Southerst Gallery. In 2007 Padovani had solo shows in Kyoto, Japan at Jarfo, Shanghai ChinArt gallery, Artspace Kan gallery Kyoto and was a featured artist for Mercedes B.C.

Other accomplishments include 2005 Commission by Monte Paschi Banque, oldest bank in the world, for a calendar and included a reception exhibit in Paris of current art collection.

In 2004 Padovani was invited to exhibit at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals  headquarters in Italy. He was also chosen by an international cruise line company to hang more than 300 reproductions of 12 paintings for a new ship.

1997 Exhibits in Geneva Du Cygne gallery, Berlin Gelmi Studio, Desenzano Zacchi gallery, Singapore Boo-Xin gallery. His first solo show was in 1992 at the San Giorgeto gallery in Verona, Italy.

Artist Statement:

Painting is my therapy.
I keep looking at shapes, shadows and lines on any day.
I feel kind of obliged to move them to a new home.
Then I wait for the harmony of the oils and brushes on my canvas to set.
