Whistler Street Entertainment presents free, family-friendly events, attractions and performers on weekends from May through September. Whistler Street Entertainment animates the paths of Whistler Village and provides interactive entertainment by performers from the Sea-to-Sky Corridor and touring artists from across Canada. Entertainment includes juggling acts, circus performers, musicians, bike stuntman, dancers and acrobats.

 

WHISTLER PRESENTS:
THANKSGIVING WEEKEND SCHEDULE - OCTOBER 8 & 9

Saturday, October 8

Whistler Olympic Plaza Concerts:

Bobs & LoLo, 11 am to 12 pm (gates open at 10:30am) - $10 per child (tickets available at whistler.com or at Millennium Place), parents are free (recommended for kids 2-10 years old).
The dynamic duo regularly featured on Treehouse TV brings musical adventures for all ages to the Whistler Olympic Plaza. Connecting kids to the natural world with music, movement and make-believe, Bobs & LoLo will get families singing and dancing along before the first song is done!
Children will have the opportunity to meet Bobs and Lolo after the show. Free Meet & Greet at Millennium Place from 12pm to 2pm.

DJ Foxy Moron, 2:30 pm, 3:45 pm & 5 pm - Free
Spins diverse sounds of funk, soul, rock’n’roll, jazz, disco, garage, gogo, breaks, hip hop, surf, sock hop, electronic, bee bop and dance!

Animal Nation, 3 pm to 3:45 pm - Free
Whistler’s own Animal Nation is jammed full of steaming hot literary science that will transmorph the audience into a scientition upon hearing their hip hop beats. You'll become a full-fledged, babe-magnet, chemistry-in-your-face, Bill Nye the freakin' Science Guy type of scientition!

Wassabi Collective, 4:15 pm to 5 pm - Free
Five-piece band fuses everything from pop, rock, hip hop, roots reggae, funk and everything in between, wrapping it all up with their own identifiable twist that has captivated dance floors and won them legions of fans across the country.

Merchandise sale for Bobs & Lolo, Animal Nation and Wassabi Collective at Millennium Place from 12pm to 6pm.

Millennium Place:

Free Kids Activities, 12 pm to 2 pm - Free
Pumpkin carving & thanksgiving turkey hand puppet craft stations.

 

Sunday, October 9

These hardworking rock'n'rollers are bringing back the sounds of 1950's with aggressive beats seamlessly fusing elements of Johnny Burnette, Chuck Berry and Brian Setzer mixed with pure rockabilly and hip-shaking rhythm!

Five Alarm Funk, 4:15 pm to 5 pm - Free
A 12-piece rhythm machine delivering a deliruim-inducing show fuelled by funk and afro-beat grooves. The horn and percussion-driven jams feature searing guitar leads and soaring horn soles.  Their wicked cross-rhythms and frenetic costumed show appeal to jazz fans and clubs kids alike.

Performer Applications

Whistler Arts Council is seeking performers for the Whistler Street Entertainment program running from May to September 2012! There may be an opportunity to expand the program to feature entertainment from Thursdays through Sundays, so please ensure you specify if your availability is NOT for the entire weekend request.

Please fill out the following application form in full. Only those being considered for summer/fall programming will be contacted. All applicants will be kept on file for future reference.
