The Whistler Arts Workshops on the Lake program is now finished for the summer. Thank you to all the artists, students and instructor, who came to Whistler this summer! Stay tuned for 2012 workshops.

Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake features two to four day workshops from beginner to advanced level instruction in oil, acrylic, watercolour painting, sketching and life drawing.

The program is inspired by the majestic scenery of Whistler and the historic Alta Lake Station House, the rustic heritage home located on the picturesque waterfront area of Alta Lake with snow-covered peak views of Whistler, Blackcomb and Wedge mountains.

Antarctica to the North Pole

Canadian artist David McEown is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design, a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and a 2005 Award Recipient of the prestigious A.J. Casson Medal. He is Canada’s most traveled watercolourist with paintings represented in collections internationally and articles published in numerous magazines.  Join David as he narrates an entertaining digital show that merges paintings, video and photography from his journey through the Arctic Ocean and Antarctica by ski, sailboat and icebreaker. Enjoy stories of chance encounters with polar bears and penguins weaved together with reflections on the inner journey and the creative process of painting.
