Annual General Meeting
Dear Whistler Arts Council Member,
We would like to extend a warm invitation to you to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Whistler Arts Council, which will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 5:00 p.m. at Millennium Place. The AGM is a great opportunity to learn about the Whistler Arts Council and the success we have achieved during 2010. As well, we will share our goals and objectives for 2011.
We hope you will make every effort to attend the meeting, which will be followed by a social gathering and a chance to learn about the growth of arts and culture in our community. Catering for this event is kindly provided by Whistler Cooks.

Notice to members Re: Nominations to the Board
The WAC Nominating Committee takes a proactive role in determining the skills, strengths, and qualifications needed to serve on your Board.
The committee annually reviews the make-up of the WAC Board and determines any gaps that may exist in specific areas of expertise on the current Board. The general qualifications the Whistler Arts Council is looking for ranges from strategic thinking and board governance experience, to financial expertise, a proven ability to work well in a team environment, community connections, cultural planning and the ability to commit the time required.
All candidates will be interviewed to determine their motivation and competencies. The current Board of Directors will present a slate of recommended nominees at the Annual General Meeting based on skills and qualifications needed on the Board. However, the membership retains the democratic right to vote for whomever they wish.
All potential Board members must be a member in good standing nominated by another member, by the Board, or by the Nominating Committee.
The deadline for nominations to the Board is Wednesday, May 18th by 5:00 p.m.

— Nominations from the floor of the AGM are prohibited, unless there are fewer candidates than there are positions to be filled, in which case nominations from the floor are permitted.
